Don't Let the Parade Pass You By!

The 2016 Great Tomato Festival Parade!

Seventy-six trombones led the big parade
With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand.
They were followed by rows and rows of the finest virtuosos,
the cream of ev’ry famous band!

Here are some details you need to know.
Where does the Parade start?

The parade begins at Killingly’s Community Center’s Parking Lot.

Where does the Parade end?

The Parade ends at Killingly Memorial School’s lower parking lot.

What time does the Parade start?

The parade kicks off at 10:30am.

What time should we line up?

We are asking all parade participants to be at KPRD at 9:30am.  Parking/drop off is available along Broad Street. We will be lining up in parade order in the church’s parking lot.

How do we line up?

The parade is divided into divisions. Look for volunteers in red shirts to help point you in the right direction. They’ll have your division and unit number within that division on the day of the parade. That order is (you guessed it!) parade order!

Can we throw candy?

Yes to candy. NO TO THROWING.

We encourage all units participating to use this as an opportunity to engage parade goers. We are glad for you to hand out candy or other items. Please refrain from throwing/tossing anything. (We would hate to have a child run out to get something that didn’t make it to the viewers only to not be seen by a float driver.)

Will Main St. be closed before the Parade?

Yes. Main Street will be shut down before the 5k that begins at 9 am on Sat., Sept. 12. Please find an alternate route to St. James.

How long will it be?

We are expecting the parade to last approximately an hour. You should be all wrapped up by noon.
