The Table is wide

There's room for everyone.

Pledging is an act of hospitality.

Each gift widens the table, ensures space for all,

and fuels ministries of justice,

welcome, & care.

Dear Fellow Westfielders,

What a year at Westfield! New members, new babies, music, laughter, and more reasons to celebrate God’s love together.

We’ve shared meals with neighbors, served soup on Sundays, cheered at concerts and festivals, and—most importantly—shown up for one another in joy and in struggle. That’s what makes Westfield the Heart of Killingly.

This fall, we’re inviting you to help us widen the table. Our theme is “The Table Is Wide: There’s Room for Everyone.” Every pledge—of time, talent, and treasure—makes sure that our table stays open, welcoming, and strong.

Please return your pledge by Sunday, November 2—either online or by returning a pledge card.

Your pledge matters. It keeps Westfield vibrant and ensures there’s always room for everyone.

With gratitude,

People will come from east and west, from north and south, and will eat in the kingdom of God.

Luke 13:29

At Westfield, we believe God’s welcome knows no boundaries. The table is wide — stretching in every direction, making room for neighbors near and far, long-time members and first-time visitors, the joyful and the weary. Your pledge extends this welcome, ensuring that our table of love, justice, and hope is always open, always ready, and always wide enough for all.

Advocacy Teams

In March of 2025, we surveyed our congregation. Among the questions was one that asked of the following issues listed, which energize you the most. From your answers, we launched new advocacy teams, starting with LGBTQ+, Mental Health Access, and Homelessness. Our teams have been shaking things up--putting our faith into action and creating real change in our church and our community.

Worship

The heart of our work together is worship. We gather, pray, sing, cry, and hope together. It's a reminder we aren't alone--that despite it all, we're in it together. The truth is that our work is worship. That is, all of our volunteering and fundraising and cooking--all of it--is worship, honoring the God who created us & loves us. Combined with our livestream, it's the primary way we connect with each other week in & week out.

Be Our Guest

Be Our Guest Suppers are a cornerstone of our missions and outreach efforts. Following Jesus' command in the gospel of John to "Feed my sheep," we offer monthly free meals to anyone who could use them. This year, that effort expanded to include not just the second Friday of the month, but also the 5th friday of the month. Additionally, Westfield is leading the charge among local churches to ease the suffering our unhoused neighbors by being a reliable access point for supplies and food.

Borrowed Blessings

Our newest ministry also hold the potential for the greatest impact. Borrowed Blessings--our durable medical equipment sharing program--offers the tools people need to heal for free. From wheelchairs to crutches to hospital beds, we've got a little bit of everything. The ministry provides for the all of Windham County and abutting towns in Rhode Island & Massachusetts.

From east to west, north to south, your pledges make room for all at God's Table.

What if I can't pledge much?

Every pledge makes the table wider. We’re grateful for whatever you contribute.

Can I change my pledge later?

Yes! Flexibility is a part of hospitality.

What is a pledge?

A pledge is a personal commitment of financial giving for the coming year. It helps Westfield plan wisely so that our ministries, outreach, and worship can thrive.

Why should I pledge instead of just giving week-to-week?

Pledging helps us know what resources will be available for ministry. It’s like setting extra places at the table—we can plan confidently when we know who’s coming.

Besides money, what else can I pledge?

Time and talent are vital! Whether you sing, cook, visit, teach, fix things, or simply show up with kindness, your gifts widen the table.

How does my pledge make a difference?

Your pledge fuels meals for our neighbors, worship that inspires, care for those in need, justice work in the community, and a spiritual home for all who walk through our doors.

Is pledging a private or public act?

Only select staff and our treasurer see the pledge amounts. During worship, we dedicate all pledges together as a community—celebrating that the table is wide enough for everyone.

What if I’m new to Westfield? Should I pledge?

Yes! Pledging is a way of saying, “I belong here.” It’s not about the size of the gift but about joining in the shared work of the church.

How do I pledge?

It’s easy! Just head here.
