How can we help?

Historically, we are big “C” Congregational, that is, part of the Congregational Church. That denomination merged into the United Church of Christ in 1957. Since our founding we’ve been little “c” congregational which means that our congregation makes its own decisions regarding its leadership, finances, and direction.
When new members join, they become stake holders and co-owners of our assets, physical, financial, and spiritual. And as such, we ask them to take seriously the work of building community and caring for one another.
Each year, a Board is elected to handle the day-to-day decision making of the congregation. Financial decisions over $5,000 as well as major staffing changes (hiring or dismissing a pastor) are made by the congregation. There are standing congregational meetings twice a year, one in January to approve a budget for the year and one in June to elect a new Board and review the last programatic year while looking toward the programatic year ahead. Other congregational meetings are called as needed.
Board meetings are open to all members (unless dealing with HR situations) and are usually held on the third Monday of the month at 7pm. You can meet our current board here.
